Success with Sensory Supports and Strategies

A sensory support or sensory strategy is any equipment or technique that uses the senses to support a child’s level of arousal. It could be something simple like a privacy screen to allow the student to concentrate when they are writing, or a specific piece of equipment like a weighted blanket which helps awareness of personal space on the carpet.

Sensory strategies can be used to help children to attend, focus, participate and avoid sensory overload.

This talk will explore tips to help you be more successful when using sensory strategies with your children.
