This session is for teachers/schools who haven’t yet ‘cracked the system’, ensuring children always have the expected quick and accurate response when processing basic number. It will show how a systemised structured approach similar to phonics – provides the key to laying crucial foundations for the school’s overall maths provision. Important parallels will be drawn with phonics in terms of how learners construct new knowledge and what this means for pedagogy, assessment and approach. This session will also demonstrate how identifying and sequencing key content can drive stronger implementation and impact, helping schools move toward consistent, effective maths outcomes.
