Insights from an autistic teacher: Meeting the needs of autistic children in schools

What does school really feel like for an autistic child and what can educators do to make that experience better?

This seminar will explore what the education experience looks like from an autistic perspective and discuss how to improve the schooling experience of those who learn differently. Topics include the importance of enabling autistic pupils to access the learning on their own terms and how to facilitate this, the art of meaningful accommodation and enhancing autistic children’s self-esteem and their sense of safety in the classroom.
