This practical session helps school leaders and teachers build a coherent, whole-school approach to literacy. Drawing on CAL:ON Cymru’s national structured literacy framework, we will look at how schools across Wales are raising reading and writing outcomes through evidence-informed teaching, assessment and intervention. Delegates will leave with a practical framework for auditing current provision, setting priorities and embedding consistent practice across year groups. Grain classroom-ready strategies which can be use immediately. All guidance and resources discussed are free to schools in Wales, available in Welsh and English and relevant to primary, secondary and ALN/SEND settings. A practical and relevant session full of ideas that can be implemented back at school.
