How do we prevent small gaps in mathematical understanding becoming barriers to future learning?
This practical session explores two complementary approaches, helping learners keep up through responsive teaching, assessment, purposeful revisiting and timely intervention and helping learners catch up when significant gaps have already developed. We will consider how to identify misconceptions early, when learners may need to step back to secure earlier mathematical foundations and how targeted approaches such as Maths Bridge Cymru can support this. Delegates will leave with practical strategies for supporting progression and meeting the needs of learners with ALN/SEND within the Curriculum for Wales.
